Frequently Asked Questions
Our organization’s entire purpose is to help the children of Syria through assistance from donations. We provide health programs, educational programs, and other basic necessities that simply aren’t readily available in the current Syrian environment. We are a non-political, secular, non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping Syrian children. We accept the help of others regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion. Our mission is to provide an environment where Syrian children can thrive.
Q: Does your organization have a private policy?
A: We respect the privacy of all of our donors. That means we do not sell your information, rent it out, exchange it, or provide it in mailing lists. We may send you opportunities and newsletters via communication with our website.
Q: Is using my credit card online to donate safe?
A: We strive to keep your personal information completely secure. We utilize SSL internet security protocol as our certification and encryption technology in order to keep your credit card data safe. That means whenever you enter your credit card number in a response form on our site, you can feel confident that you are protected. There are no records of hackers or card thieves breaking SSL encryption and stealing personal information.
Q: How will a sponsored child benefit from my donation?
A: When you donate on a monthly basis, the child that you sponsor will be provided with educational programs, healthcare, and shelter. You are helping a child get the basic necessities that are simply unavailable in Syria’s war torn environment.
Q: How does your organization work with the community?
A: We work with the community on a regular basis to partner with established groups and community leaders. We want to empower people to help make positive change for Syrian children. We work with several humanitarian groups and charitable organizations that also have the needs of Syrian children at heart. We want to make sure that the changes we bring about are sustainable so that Syria’s children have a bright future.
Q: Is there a specific timeframe for your work with Syrian children?
A: Our organization is determined to forge long term, sustainable relationships and help Syrian children build a brighter future. Our goal is to ensure that Syrian children continue to thrive in the future, even after the program has ended. We want to work with the community to build sustainable institutions that can allow these children, and future generations, to grow in the long run.
Q: Is there a time limit for my sponsorship of a child?
A: There is not a time limit that dictates how long you can sponsor a child. We view sponsorships as a commitment to the child for the long term, but each sponsorship is different and the lengths will be based on a number of different factors. Generally, sponsorship can end when a child grows old enough to care for themselves or becomes self-sufficient. As long as the child that you sponsor has not become self-sufficient, he or she will typically continue to receive assistance. If or when your sponsorship with a child ends, we will inform you and provide you with a chance to sponsor another child that is in need of assistance.
Q: Will I receive regular updates of the child that I sponsor?
A: If you are sponsoring a child, you will receive an update each year. The update will include the child’s educational progress, health reports, and achievements that the child has made in the community. We will also provide a new photo of the child each year.
Q: Are my donations tax-deductible?
A: All donations to our organization are tax-deductible charitable contributions, as we have 501©(3) status.
